Please save the date for the commemoration of the 1966 farm worker strike and march: Wednesday, June 1, 2016, 9 am, in the historic downtown area of Rio Grande City (RGC).

And make necessary flight and hotel arrangements. Here is a list of hotels in Rio Grande City.
The McAllen airport (MFE) should be your airport destination. I believe Southwest flies into Harlingen (75 miles east of Rio Grande City).  American flies into McAllen.

The commemoration will be held starting at 9 am, Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at the kiosk in front of the old Starr County Courthouse on thecorner of Britton and Washington in Rio Grande City, Texas. A program will be held, followed by a short march. The Kelsey-Bass Museum on Washington Street will have an exhibit of photos of the strike.

Huelguistas and Peregrinos will be on the program to recall and tell us that history. Invited guests who are tentatively confirmed include Dolores Huerta, Arturo Rodriguez, and Paul Chavez.

Please consider attending this commemoration. Your presence will make it that more significant.
